first off:
1998 eclipse gst now then, when i turn in either direction, i'm starting to hear a strange rubbing sound that seems to be coming from my passenger front wheel area. it's not a grinding type of sound that you would hear with a busted cv. it's more of a flat tire rubbing across a gravel surface type sound that doesn't occur every time i turn, but maybe 1 out 3 times i turn. i checked the cv boot for any tears where grease could escape but there's nothing. no grease anywhere in the area or on my wheel. i ruled out the cv/axle problem. after that, i checked ps fluid and it was fine so no leaks there. i have no idea where to go from here. would a busted shock make a sound like that? how do i tell that it's tossed, if it is in fact my shock? and again, if it is my shock, where can i find a place to rebuild it? i run koni yellows. HELP!! |

Re: weird rubbing sound?!?!??!?
is your car lowered? check for weird wear on your tire from it dragging on something.
