Prety Good Night

Last night, as nothing was going on whatsovever in my little piss ant college town, I headed down to Columbia to see if I could get a few races. I hop on down, and when I get there, it was suprisingly crowded on the streets. I head towards my usual haunt, and in transit, I get my first of three races.

I'm sitting at a light, and theres a black Chevy pickup of some sort sitting behind me. I don't think anything of it, and I hop of the line pretty quick when the light turns green. However, as I look up, it looks like the pickup was holding with me, like he wanted to go. I accelerate up a little bit, puting some space between us, and drop into second in 40, and switch into the right lane. He pulls up next to me, and I look over, and the passenger has his window down, and so do I, and he points forward. I nod, and he shouts 'On three!'. So I nod, the guy in the pickup honks down, and on the third honk, we both gun it. That truck was pretty quick, and damned loud (I think exhaust, maybe intake),as I had a SLOW pull away from him through the rest of second (ends at 55ish), and shift into thrid, and start getting a pretty good pull. I'm starting to move away from him pretty good now, and shut down at 90, about a length and a half up. I give them the thumbs up, and get it back, and then I let off so that they can get over (had their blinker on). They turn right, and I turn left.

After that, its fairly quiet, as I keep poping U-Turns trying to get to this decent sized pack of some good cars (Well...some-It looked like a nicely modded [ie not ricey] Civic, an older muscle car [couldnt tell waht kind, it was like, yellowish green wiith a black 304 or 340 on the rear fender]. and another good looking 2nd Gen Eclipse, the rest were pretty much fart canned Civics). I finally get into the group, but I can't seem to get any of them to race. I thought I had one for a minute with an older Accord coupe, but he turned into Sonic before I could get him to go.

After doing this for about an hour, I finally get my next race. I go through a light, and there is a set of headlights...and those little winsheild washer lights, comming up on me pretty fast. I drop donw into second, and get ready for him to try a fly by. However, when he pulls up next to me, he paces me. Awesome. Its a black 300ZX, couldn't tell if it was a turbo or not, but I'm gonna go with 'or not.' I look at him, and he looks over at me and nods. I pull a quick u-turn (we're running out of road REAL fast) and head the other way, where we catch a light. Hes reving it, and I dont hear a BOV, just sounds like its possibly intake and exhaust (but the exhaust looked stock), and I'm waiting for the light. It goes green, and he gets off the line a little faster than I do with a small amount of wheel spin. He keeps me about a 1/4 of a car length or less through second, but when I hit thrid, I start pulling on him. Mid third, I'm at his door, high third, my nose is just in front of his, fourth, I pull a little, keep the pull 80...90..95...and at 100, I'm up by about half car length, maybe a bit more. I shut down at 105, were comming up on a red really fast, and he pulls next to me, and gives me the thumbs up. I give it back, and we just cruise a little bit after that.

By now, I've decided that I've wasted enough gas, and deicded to head home. I took the longer route to get to the highway, and as I pull up to a light, a couple of kids in a car (couldn't tell what kind, either a Nissan or Toyota of some sort, I'm inclined to say Nissan) pull up next to me. I look over, and the dirver looks over, and starts power braking. I look over and nod, and then just look back up at the light. It goes green, and I get a good launch, and he bogs it somehow. I pretty much just walk away from him up to 60, then shut down. He pulls up next to me, and rolls down his window, and shouts "from a roll!" I nod, expecting him to count, but he just punches it. Im in fourth, just cruising at 65, so I down shift into third, and pretty much just as he pulls a carlength on me, I take off, and fly by him pretty fast. I go to give him the thumbs up, he gives me the bird. Yeah whatever. Soa fter that, I decide its enough, and just head back home. Good night for Cassie and me, especially becuyase the weather is starting to get a bit nicer. Also, Elchico, if you read this, were you at Taco Bell last night around 10:30ish? If so, I think I saw you there.

Cliff notes:
Beat a Truck
Beat a 300ZX
Beat a bunch of kids in a Nissan or Toyota four door

Probably the better of the two to bet on . Anyway, sounds like fun, good races; it always puts me in a good mood to gain a few kills when I'm bored.

Re: Prety Good Night

did the 300ZX look kind of long??? if it did, then it deff. wasn't turbo'd, but either way...it doesn't sound like it was turbo'd...nice races tho! heh

Im pretty positive the 300 wasnt turbod now that I think about it...if it was, it shoulda walked me. I did see it had a dual exahust, if that means anything.

Re: Prety Good Night

yeah i was, inside for a while (cuz the cop sitting at the bell told us to buy something or leave) , got to ride around in my friends' Rex (which is a pretty quick little car), and i raced my other friends vr-4 galant, which i surprisingly held even with him , he's pushing 8lbs of boost and only a filter, o2dump, and 2.5 back w/ hiflow on it

btw cassie we need to exchange numbers so the next warm weekend we can chill or something

yeah a all 300ZX's comes with dual exhuast. the easiest way to tell is by the rims. the twin turbo has a staggered setup, and the rears will look a good amount wider. thats usually the first thing i spot right away when i see a twin turbo Z, also they have a small.

both of those can be added on to a Z, i sometimes see n/a Z's with the wing put on, however i've yet to see one n/a Z with the twin turbo staggered wheels put on.

Re: Prety Good Night

Gotcha. Still a N/A Z is a good kill for a four door family sports sedan.

Re: Prety Good Night

Lol. I looked up the times for the NAs on Dragtimes.com, and the highest two were a 16.something, and a 15.4 with a slipping clutch.
