BMW illiterate

My mom is looking at buying a bmw 3 series other than the engine sizes what are the differnces in the cars. She is looking from like 1990-1997 3 series. They are all rwd correct. Are the engines interchangable. Like a 2.5 into a 1.8 or a m series. Is there a FAQ bout these cars i didn't see one like most of the other AF forums have. Sry for the ?s but like the title says BMW illiterate.

differences..

I can try and help u with what i know....You want a 1992-1999...thats the E36 body. As you said the 318 have the 1.8L, or if you go 1996+ its 1.9...Also the 318(is) 325(is) and 328(is) are 2 door coupes, and they come with a moon roof most of them, and a sport package. Which i refer to it as better suspension, and better interior. But you can find almost all of those with leather, and in 5sp manual tranny, as long as in auto. And the 318(i) 325(i) 328(i) is 4 door. O ya alost the (is) models i believe have upgrades wheels...IF i was you, i would tell your mom to try and afford the 1995 m3...Theyr really super cars. Theyr so sleek, smooth, fast, and a great reliable car, and very fun to drive! or even a 328is! Well hope that helps a lil.

Re: BMW illiterate

Which ones are awd the ones with xi at the end? i myself wouldn't mind a 318 with a turbo but for her i think a normal 325 would do she isn't a standard person so auto for her.

Re: BMW illiterate

BMW 3's don't come with a turbo, that's aftermarket. And EXPENSIVE!! Yes the all-wheel drive models are the Xi's, but they didn't come out until 01. Drive power is split 68/32 r/f for that bmw kick. AS for the m3, does your mom need 300+ horses?
