adjusting doors an a 89 chevy 2500 scottsdale.
the doors on my 89 are sagging a bit. is it feasable to remove the door and bend the hinges up about a 1/8 to a 1/4 inch with a pipe wrench to fix this problem?

Just put a floor jack under the doors and jack it up.

Holy shit some people have some crazy ideas on how to make adjustements to vehicles. If your doors are sagging the hinge pins are worn out and need to be replaced plain and simple. Why try bending the hinges or jacking the door up to make it close better, all that is going to do it wreck it. The hinge pins and bushings are EASY to replace , i have done it a few times in the past and i say the easiest way is to do one pin and bushing at a time starting with the top one just get someone to support the door while you tap out the old pin and bushing with a hammer and punch.

well replaced the pins and bushings. and never fixed it. looks like the holes in the hinge on the door are rounded out a bit. again back to the original question! slightly bending the hinges . is it feasable or will they just bend rite back after the door is back on?

Put a floor jack under the door and a 2x4 between the two. SLOWLY jack the door up. SLOWLY! Becareful. Go a little bit at a time. My door sagged about 1 inch, and I slowly raised it. It took me about an hour or so. Jack it up a bit, hold it there for a few minutes or so, then let it down. Don't try to do it all at once though. You will tear something up.

There is actually a tool that is made to hook over the striker pin and then latch into the door so that it is almost closed (in the position where you can see all the body lines properly) and you use a crescent wrench on a hex nut welded to it for leverage. Most body shops should have one of these , maybe you could go and talk to someone at one and see if they will borrow it to you or even do it for you , it will only take like a minute. This method would be alot safer on the paint and sheet metal and this tool is actually made for adjusting doors in this way although in a jam the jack trick will work.
