IAC R&R

93 JGC - my jeep idles pretty decent but not smooth. I already cleaned my IAC by spraying cleaner at that small opening at the throttle body.

I am wondering, if I can take the IAC off the throttle body and clean it well? Is there any gasket I need to replace? Is the IAC one piece and without any parts springing out when taken off?

Thanks for any input.

Just took a crack at that IAC

I just took my IAC off of my 94 GC. I am looking for a picture now... but all it was, was taking off 2 torq bolts and pulling it out. It just had a spindle looking thing... I really dont see how it works! hence my ongoing research to see what this things is supose to look like out of the box... I took mine out and cleaned it..... but for some reason... my jeep isint starting anymore... so if yours is still starting... dont mess with it ..... I just asked if I messed up mine by cleaning it and awaiting a reply.

Stay tuned!

Re: IAC R&R

the only gasket type thing at all on the AIC is an O-Ring.

Flyboy - The IAC opens to allow air into the manifold while idling, when the throttle plates are open it close, the spindle on most IAC are threaded (screwed) in and the motor just screws it in and out to adjust it for proper idle speed, depending on idling conditions Hot or cold.
