Cleaning
A warm hello for all of you.
I am new here, but owned my 02 Jag for almost a year now. My question is about the "Chrome" trim that is on the doors, right around the windows. I can't seem to get it back to the shine it had when I bought it, the trim looks like its foggy? Does that make sense? I hope it does. I bought some of the turtle wax "Chrome" polish and tried it in one spot and it really didn't do anything. What do you all used to clean and shine the "Plastic Chrome"? Thanks for listening... Alex |

Plastic chrome
It's not easy to keep the sheen on plastic chrome. Over time, it will loose its luster. And it's near-impossible to bring back that "new" look to it. Best bet is to simply "maintain" it with good waxes. Gritted materials, like some polishes, will further damage the finish. I'd suggest using something like Autoglym products, which we've had good results and experience with, and like very much. Aston Martin supplies Autoglym kits with their cars so it's good enough for me.

Thanks for the reply pfoglia,
Well it's off to buy a new x-type then ![]() J/K, I'll try to find that stuff here and see what it can do. If nothing but just protect it from getting any worse. Thanks, Alex |
