cant engage 4wd

Hello,
I just bought an 01 wrangler and I cant figure out how to engage the 4wd. I've had 2 mid 90's model wranglers, but I just cant figure this one out (yea, I know I'm a D.A.) Can someone tell me how to do this or I am wondering if there is a problem with the trans and I need to take it back to the dealership? Thanks for the help, and stop laughing!

Re: cant engage 4wd

On the wranglers from 97 and up you have to be moving at what is recommended 2 to 4 mph shift into nuetral and then engage 4wd.

After going thruogh the thought process, I figured it out.The shifter linkage for the transfer case had come apart, and the linkage was bent, so I straightened the like out and re attatched it to the transfer case. Thanks for the tip.
