2003 Grand Am, ABS, Trac off, and Service Engine Soon warning lights on
I have a 2003 Grand Am, 6 cylinder 3.4 L engine, Automatic transmission, it has 41,746 kms on the odometer. The following warning lights are all on - ABS, Trac off, and Service Engine Soon. The Air Bag one was on but is now off. What would cause this?

Re: 2003 Grand Am, ABS, Trac off, and Service Engine Soon warning lights on
There are two things that could cause this:
1 - Bad wheel bearing or 2 - It has a bad sensor and thinks that it has a bad wheel bearing - happens lots in the winter when the wheel gets shocked by stuff (ice chunk, ect.) - if you have a bad sensor, lots of times they'll get jarred by this and send a bad signal. So it could actually be a bad wheel bearing, or it could just be a bad sensor. |

Thank-you for the info, I just wanted to have an idea of what the problem is when I take her in to the dealership tomorrow.

No problem. BTW, if it was a bad wheel bearing, you would've most likely heard it rumbling at certain speeds. My guess is, especailly since it's during the winter, that it's a fault sensor.
