speedometer and tach

i have a 1994 grand am se with a 2.3 quad ohc automatic...i have no tach just a speedometer...when i start the car the needle on the speedometer jumps jump and accelates up to about 30 miles an hour...and then drops down to zero..also the car starts very rough...why does this happen are these two problems associated together some help....also the car has a slight miss when idle but i know thats coil packs due to the shitty accelaration also.....i need some help
