Re: egr valve

Hmm.. Ive never seen a how-to around...

When I did my 1.8L to 2.5L swap, I just blocked off the EGR port, and plugged the tube going to it.

However I have a ZE and my ECU is a Jspec one therefore there is not sensor for it. On a ASpec MX6 you would get a check engine light.

Re: egr valve

I dont see how it would damage your engine. THink about it this way: The Jspec 2.5L doesnt even have an EGR. EGR stands for Exhaust Gas Recirculator and all it is there for is emissions. The USA and Canada have much stricter guidelines for emissions than in Japan. I dont see how it would damage your car. It could potentially wear out your Catalyzer a BIT (I'm really reaching here) sooner... thats Ill I can think of.

Removing it would be a bit of work too. If I were you, I would just leave it there broken. Is your check engine light on?

nahh drive her home and dont worry about it. thats if the EGR is the only problem. The engine light should be on, but dont worry about it.
