What do cam gears and cam shaft do for horsepower and torque?? Any help will do!

Cam gears do not do much except reduce weight correct??

Any help or suggestions would be great!

cam gears and cam shafts have nothing to do with your tranny.

Cam gears allow you to adjust your cam timing. Cam shafts give you different valve lift, duration and overlap depending on what cam you are using.

wut exactly does cam timing do? and does variable valve time, such as VTEC, improve performance? if so, why??

vtec changes the cam profile of your car at a certain rpm, when that certain rpm is reached the vtec kicks in you get more power.http://auto.howstuffworks.com/question229.htm
