1995 wire and plug replacement

well it happens every year, i have to replace the plug wires because of wear and tear

this time i want to do it myslef instead of paying lotsa $$$ to get it done

can u ppl tell me how its done?

i suspect it needs to be raised, i just took a look at the engine and could only spot 2 plugs on the left side of the engine

i know where they are but i have to get some reliable jacks if i have to raise the beast to get to its heart

thanks alot my friends

Re: 1995 wire and plug replacement

Here is a site I found on changing them (actually cuda found it for me but I will steal credit). http://maysvilleky.net/~gbeard/fourth-genFAQ/4_2aq.htm
Although I don't agree with having to remove the Y-pipe. As to get those bolt loose will probably be more of a chore than changing the plugs. I found it easier to get the number 7 from under the car. The number 2(requires removing the alternator) I had to get on the engine with my arm twisted behind my back to get to and number 8 you will need a swivel head wratchet to get out or you could find someone who is double jointed. Not easy job at all but you will save yourself at least a couple hundred dollars. Also wires you will have to be done from under the car and you will have a real hard time getting the on the opti cause of the waterpump being right there but its doable. Good luck.
