Right rear brakes

The right rear brake keeps locking up when the brakes are applied.
I have replaced the rear drums and brake pads but the problem still exists.
Also the ABS and Brake lights came on and stayed on after the repairs.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Re: Right rear brakes

usually drum brakes will lock up if there is excesive brake dust, gear oil contamination, weak return springs, self adjuster not working(bent), water contamination(plug missing, damaged backing plate/drum) brake fluid contamination. or something wasn't installed correctly. you should find out why those lights are on, most times abs just means a wheel speed sensor wire is broken but the brake light is more dangerous, it can come on if the fluid is low or if pressure is lost in half the system(leak)

Re: Right rear brakes

Make sure the proper shoes are in place. One friction surface should be longer than the other. The smaller one should go to the front. If you see they're both the same size, pull the other drum off to make sure you didn't put the short ones on the left and the long ones on the right.
