Error Code

While driving home the check engine light came on with no noticeable problem. After checking the error code we came up with --- Emmission small leak. PO442

Anyone help me with where to start?

Make sure your gas cap is on tight, and make sure it clicks a few times...the light will turn itself off if there is no problem the next time it runs the evap test....if you tighten your gas cap...and then clear the codes and the light comes back...then have someone with a smoke machine (dealerships definatly have them, local shops idk)..then you can pinpoint and see where the leak is comming from...really without that machine theres no way to be positive about whats leaking...

also im not sure what year your car is...but if its still under warrantee then take it to a dealership and they will fix it...

i have a 2003 grand am gt. the drivers side window started banging when i put it up, and would not go all the way closed, leaves about 1/4 inch open. the dealership tells me that the clips are broken in the door and i need a whole new glass with installation that will cost me 300.00!! anyone else have this problem, and how did you fix it? also. the rubber around the passenger side windshield popped out and is just hanging there, and that estimate is 200.00. anyone have thoughts on this?

its the Evaporative Emissions CONTROL. The canister(black canister) that collects/absorbs gas fumes from the tank and routes them into the intake. Theres a check valve inside the charcoal canister. THE PCM regulates the vapor flow from the canister to the intake by controling the 'EVAP' purge valve.

Check the hoses, thats what I'd do. The #1 cause for this error(EVAP) is disconnected hoses or brokem hoses. If you cant locate the leak you'll hav to take it to the dealer or another quallified Tech to locate the leak. These usually last the life of the car.
