got stopped by cop cause of loud exhaust?

Hi, Get this,

A cop stopped me because he thought that my exhaust was too loud, fortunately he let me off with a warning, but i get the impression from the way he was talking that he just stopped me to check if he car was stolen and that he used the exhaust as a lame excuse .Anyways, i have a comptech catback exhaust which is suppossed to be one of the quiter ones, its also 50 state kegal. He stuck a tape measure inside the exhaust and said that there was no "gas deflector" anywhere along the exhaust system, and that this is necesary. Is this true or was the cop full of sh**?

As long as it is quiet enough, and can pass emissions (if your area requires for inspections) then i'd assume it's legal.

He did not know what he was talking about. The only thing you have to have on the exhaust is the Cat, after that it can be wide open as long as it meets the db requirements of your local traffic laws.

There is no such thing, the cop was making it up to justify pulling him over. I hate cops like that!
