Angry Stripped BOlt

well I was taking off my lower control arm in the rear (so I thought) when I stripped the freakin bolt. NOw it just slips and I cant get the damn thing out. which sucks because IM in the process of putting in the TYpe R rear and I need to get the old lower control arm off the car. IS there any kinda tricks or certain tools I can use to get this stripped bolt out? its stripped at the HEX where you turn the bolt, I just cant get any kinda grip. THe bolt is the one that connects the lower control arm to the chassy. Also I was reading about Craftsman Bolt out sockets? do those actually work? Ive been trying to use a 14mm to take the damn thing out but to no avail. PLeeeeease someone give me some advice.

Re: Stripped BOlt

Auto Zone rents out automotive tools reeeaaally cheap, almost free. They might have that special tool to remove the stripped bolt. And don't forget the liquid wrench.

There is a special kind of impact socket (if you have access to a compressor and gun) i can't remember the name of it, but it's made to dig into the stripped bolt to get it off.. if you can't do this, you might just have to cut the head of the bolt off and knock it through if it's a bolt and nut.

why are you taking it back? they are not crap. they should be an essential piece of your tool set.
