noobie looking for 93' rx7
I need help looking for a 93' rx7. I say 93 because i don't like the older boxier body style, and as far as i know 93' is the first year for the bubble top body style.. I also have a limited budget of about 5k. the only place i have even found ONE at this price was on ebay and it was partially totalled. I don't think i can find one that doesn't need some work, but i was hoping to find one that only needed cosmetic work or like body damage or interior damage. I have owned a few old chevys and always looked down on ricers because i thought they lacked power and torque, but then i met the rx7.... I live in North carolina but i don't really have a problem findaing a car out of state because i don't see any for sale in my area. I think the 93' models are either turbo or twin turbo is this correct? Do high mile rotary engines need to be rebuilt most of the time. i was also considering buying a mid 90's 240zx, but i really want the rx7 over that. Can anyone please give me any general advice

As long as you keep proper maintenance on the engine then it will last as long as most piston engines.
I would steer clear of Ebay RX-7's because they like to scam people, there has been several instances where an add was pulled because they were using a photo that they picked up off line and tried selling the car, auto trader has this problem also so beware of any low price FD's. Stock FD's also came twin turbo fyi.

I think i am gonna go for the 240, plus alot of my friends have them so it makes it kinda easy to decide what to get for it since i already know what works. can anyone tell me where i can find a good source to search for one?

hell i bought mine for 6900 5 years ago, i bought it from a guy in palm beach, he had 3 of them and the motors have a 100k mile curse this.seems the fc run alot longer and parts are 200% more expensive for the fd. but who cares right.

noobies usually shouldn't get an FD... especially if you have a limited budget... go FC or get like a 240sx(like you mentioned) or maybe look into MR2's, they are pretty sweet cars as well
