Thanks guys...

I just bought mine from ebay for $47 shipping included. And I was worried if that was well worth it or not.

Regards,

Well done, money well spent im sure. I was searching for this a while back without success, i had to make do with the Revell Premium one which if i ever get round to building is going to be quite a handfull.

Yeah...? Tamiya has re-boxed other companies kits before, and I've always thought the 850 was one of them..Another was the 3-series from about the same time...

Oh right......now im with you, never knew that. Naaa, it cant be possible that my Revell one is a re-boxed Tamiya kit, the quality is too poor even if it is a few years old.

Cheers, Mike

Re: BMW 850i

No, it's the other way around. Tamiya reboxed Revell's 850i and 325 and sold them in Japan, and some stray kits ended up outside Japan. Aoshima reboxed Revell's Jaguar XK120, and I've seen some people in the US paying way too much for that kit, too.

Re: BMW 850i

Yep, it is a reboxed Revell. People pay the high prices for the Tamiya ones because a) there are very few left around and b) highly unlikely they will ever be re-released.

I second that. I have both Revell's and Tamiya's 850i's. The only differences are that Tamiya reboxed the kit with their own box art design, included better tyres and I think the decals were different.

I bought the Tamiya one for £25 GBP.

Since we're on the subject iv'e built Revells Mercedes Benz 600S like many others here. Iv'e just bought Italeri's & its from the same machinery as the Revell one, the only difference being the color of the plastic. So i wonder who boxes for who here.
