Hood release cable
I have to replace the hood release lever and cable on my 97 Civic LX. Please advise me on how this procedure is done.
Thanks, Marty |

Re: Hood release cable
The easiest way is remove the bumper the drivers headlight and the drivers inner splash shield.

the cable runs from inside the car (under the dash, you know where it's at) through the side of the firewall and along the frame (behind the fender) and to the hood latch. Start by taking out the hood release lever and then detach the cable from under the hood. Then you'll have to remove your fender to remove the cable because the cable should be held to the frame by some little plastic clips that you will have to remove. Once that's removed just pull from one end and it should all come out.
