roughidle/oil leak

I have two problems with my 91 515i. one is my car has rough idles for awhile and i fixed what appeared to be a vaccum leak the hoswe going tot he idle control valve was not secure in the underside of my intake manifold. It still idles rough. i don;t have the money to be replacing things till it stops i thought it might be the idle control valve but i cleaned it up and put it back in and it still did it. The funny thing is i took it to a shop a year ago and they said it needed coil packs so i got the new coils packs i needed and the rough idle basically went away unless u really sat there trying to feel it then it wa snot noticable at all. but then it slowly started coming back so i dunno what else they did to it to keep it from idling rough for a few weeks. But this is driving me crazy trying to figure it out. Also i have the same problem as the guy a few posts down in my sparkplug well on plug one there is a little bit of oil. I dunno how to get rid of it i replaced my valve cover gasket i know for a fact its not leaking from there. But when i look down there appears to be another gasket maybe firther down then it could possibly be leaking from but i do not know if there is buti thought there was. but the spark plug well is dry around the valve cover gasket so i am lost completely. Sorry for th long post but any help what so ever would be greatly appreciated. thanks
