R5 gtx 1.7 bad start & temp gauge down

Hi folks,

My wife's R5 GTX is bad on starting. It has to turn round many times before running??!! I replaced sparkplugs and its wires and the distributor. When it is running it is floating between 900 and 1200 rpm?!

second: the temp gauge is down?!! Does anybody know where it's transmitter is?

Tanks very much.

Tom.

Re: R5 gtx 1.7 bad start & temp gauge down

the temp sender will more than likely be somewhere in the side of the engine block, will have two wires from it.as for the idle it should start of higher an work its way down to about 800rpm,if it is erratic my advice would be change the oil filter and fuel filter and if its a fuel injection model run some injector cleaner through it and come back if its still playing up
