4WD Does Not Work In Reverse

I have a 1987 K-5 Silverado Blazer with a 350. The 4x4 works fine in drive but will not work in reverse. Does anyone have any idea why this could happen?

Re: 4WD Does Not Work In Reverse

Do you have the auto locking hubs, if so it sounds like something is going on with them.

Re: 4WD Does Not Work In Reverse

Look at the front hubs , if it has a cross piece in the middle that you can turn , they are not auto locking. If they are just smooth then they are auto locking. The auto locking hubs are nice for their convienence but once they start acting up they are a pain in the ass. Also if you do take them apart to have a look around DO NOT GREASE ANYTHING except for maybe a little on the bearings in the end cap. The grease gets stiff in cold weather and they do not want to work *speaking from expierence ).
