pinging noises
When i drive my truck right now, I get a pinging noise coming from the engine. It started a couple days ago, and it only happens when i am driving, pushing the gas, when i come to a stop it stops.... should i change the fuel filter, or maybe spark plugs, or maybe the pcv..... can anyone please help me?

Re: pinging noises
Sounds like gas to me too. Run the tank down a little and top off with premium and see what happens. I have a 2001 Dodge 1500 with the 3.9 six and have to use 89 octane during the cold months to keep it from pinging. Once the weather turns warm the pinging stops.

back again....
I tried several things.... first I thought it might be water.... so I put in 2 bottles of Iso Heet.... that didn't work, then I tried premium gas with the Iso Heet... that helped a bit, but sometimes it still keep on going.... so I changed the fuel filter.... and now it does not go ping-ping-pong! I don't understand it, I had alreadly changed the filter before 10, 000 kilometres and already it is crap... aren't they supposed to last for 50.. or so kilometres? oh...well...no more ping-pong....
