i was just checking the mygmlink.com site. they keep records of all the recall info and whatnot for the vehicle/VIN you register with them. i'll let you know how it works out. thanks man.

Thumbs down

'there are currently no outstanding recalls..." blah blah blah. the bastards. anyway, where should i go from here? it worked fine until it just quit out one day in the snow. i don't care about the elements so much as all the road salt, and the corresponding glare that comes with not having a way to clean the windshield.

not the ground, and i dont think there's a relay... i think theyre controlled by the pulse module which is wired to the int wiper switch on the directional. do you happen to know where theres a diagram online for a complete wiper system teardown? my haynes manual doesnt have one.

as far as the relay thing is concerned, if you know where it is, i'm all ears. (the module is like 50 bucks)

Re: wipers broken.

mine wont stop. so i just unplug them from the fire wall whenever i dont need them which sucks but i looked in my schools chilton book and it would take like 3 hours i think for a wiper motor change. try contact cleaner. maybe some dirt got in there or some salt.

You need a pulse wiper module. It is very easy to change and it is what your problem is. I am a gm tech, and we change lots of them. Don't know why they haven't included them on a recall. Wish I could help you more.

i figured it was the circuit board on the back of the wiper motor. tested switch, it worked, not getting continuity throuhg the board. is that what the module is?

Yes, the circuit board is the module. That is your trouble.

Re: wipers broken.

nope. got the whole damn thing apart today. I burned up the motor. module is still good though. replaced both. anyone in the market for a slightly used wiper module. Fits 99-present sonoma, jimmy, s10, blazer. I'll throw in a brand new drivers side wiper arm too.

Re: wipers broken.

that sounds like the module is blown... its like 40 or so bucks from your local parts store, and you want to get a tube of weatherstrip adhesive to put a seal around the plate that comes off when you change the module.

could be the switch too though... thats not good... dealer only 150 bucks.

get a tester and see if the connector is drawing power when the switch is in the off position. if so, then its the switch. otherwise its the module.
