Power Window
My passenger side window doesn't work anymore. I pulled the door trim and checked for voltage coming into the switch. Then I check for voltage going to the motor at the harness under the plastic. I am getting 12 volts to the motor. I ohmed out the motor and do not get any resistance. I'm thinking the internal fuse link is open. Can I just replace the motor or do I have to buy the regulator/motor combo? Or, am I misdiagnosing the problem.
Thanks |

Re: Power Window
Send current directly to motor and see if it works. If not there is a regulator on EBAY.

Re: Power Window
I would check the window control switch first. Mine stopped functioning about 3 months after I got it and that was the trouble.
All I did to get it to go again was unplug the passenger side switch and then control it from the driver side controls. |

Re: Re: Power Window
Do you know of a place where I can buy just the motor? Also, I can't get access to the retaining bolts that hold the window to the regulator. How can I lower the window to remove these bolts? Shold I just take the regulator bolts out first, so I can lower the window then remove the window retaining bolts?

Re: Power Window
Motors and regulators are sold at the dealer seperately. There are three large "gold" screws on the motor - undo these. You will need a #3 philips screwdriver, and you may need to give the screwdriver a whack with a hammer to break the screws loose. Do this with the regulator out of the car on a table. For speed, use a 1/4" drive 10mm socket and an electric drill for getting all of the bolts out of the panel.
