Will Vtec Kick In If Car Is Up In Air
I Have A 93 Dx. Just Drop A Gsr In And Now I Wired The Vtec. The Car Is Still In The Air And I Did The A Test In The Air. I Didnt Hear The Vtec Kick In. Do I Have To Be On The Ground For The Vtec To Work??

Re: Will Vtec Kick In If Car Is Up In Air
If your saying that it's jacked up, then yes it should kick in. Why wouldn't it. The car doesn't know if it's on the ground or not. It just knows if you push the gas or not and whether you want to go left or right. If it doesn't kick in, then you probably wired it up wrong.

if you leave it in neutral it won't engage vtec.

Re: Re: Will Vtec Kick In If Car Is Up In Air
Thats What I Thought Too. I Think I Did The Wiring Correct. Could It Be That I Didnt Wire The Knock Sensor In Yet? B/c I Have Not Yet Done That. All I Wire In Was The Oil Pressure Solenoid And Second Butterfly?

Re: Will Vtec Kick In If Car Is Up In Air
So you didn't wire the vtec solenoid or ground yet?
Edit: you need to have the top 3 wired up for it to work: http://www.allmotorhonda.com/techpag...ies-wiring.htm But you should do all that wiring at once to get it done, and then start it up. |

Yes I Did Both Of Them Already. Just Not The Knock Sensor

Re: Will Vtec Kick In If Car Is Up In Air
Then the vtec should be wired up properly. Without the knock sensor, the engine will run like ass though; but it's not needed to engage vtec.

Re: Will Vtec Kick In If Car Is Up In Air
What I Understand Is That As Long As The Solenoid Is Wired And Ground And Oil Pressure Is Also Wired, The Vtec Should Come On. I Also Warmed Up The Car For Awhile Before I Slammed The Gas. What Else Is There To Be Done If This Doesnt Work??

Re: Will Vtec Kick In If Car Is Up In Air
Honestly I'd say wire the rest of the stuff up and give it a test drive. I might be thinking of something else here; but I think I read before that you have to actually drive the car to engage vtec. But like I said, it could have been something else I'm confusing that with.

Re: Will Vtec Kick In If Car Is Up In Air
knock sensor doesnt need to be installed for vtec to work as far as i know. and vtec will only engage when the car(or wheels) is moving, so having it on a lift it should work as long as the wheels are moving
