Focus vs. Tundra

I was cruisin with my buddy in his newer Jetta(w/ turbo, stage three drag clutch, etc, etc, etc, etc) and we were racing some of the time. he can stomp me in a race because of the turbo, but i can always beat him through first and second. well we pull up to a stop light, i'm in the far left lane, a toyota tundra(or whatever the big V8 toyota truck is) is in the middle lane, and my buddy is in the far right lane. well the dude in the tundra starts to call me out(but not my buddy, whose car looks like it belongs on a road course). green light. i get a good jump on both of them, but my buddy drops off because he forgot he was low on gas and almost drove right by the ampm he was planning on stopping at. the truck kept up, staying on my bumper, but in the other lane, until i hit third, went to 5,000 in third, then fourth(i usually shut down before fourth, but i wanted to put the nail in the coffin)...we were going 100 on a 45 street...and i had the lead by two car lengths before i shut down just in time to swing by my friend's apartment, which was the point of the whole thing.

Re: Focus vs. Tundra

I noticed your sig and it says: CAI, Headers, Catback ex, and intercooler. Can someone refresh my memory here, but how exactly do you get an intercooler to work without FI?

Unless your CAI just so happens to be those FM CAI's (front mount cold air intakes). L8...

Re: Focus vs. Tundra

Alright, please change that. I don't want anybody else getting on your case over that. That could ruin you here in a heart beat.

In your Sig you should say:

FM CAI, Headers, and Catback Exhaust. Cool? L8...

That's a good Noob.

I've heard the Tundra's aren't exactly push overs. I think one of Redneck's friends owns one and it can put up one hell of a fight. I've never encountered one and I don't exactly know the stats on them. L8...

Re: Focus vs. Tundra

Once..I raced this kid in a focus..and I was just playing with him...so I wasn't going all out..and I made him think he beat me. And then at the next light he was revving and being all cocky and smiling and stuff. So I smiled back. Light turned green. Slaughtered him. Owned.

i don't usually like being played with, but it is sometimes neccessary as a reality check... i used to (literally) drive circles around SUVs that would try to race...when i had my 86 5.0... old guys in family rides are the worst... i like mustangs, dampachi, but i just needed better handling, and better gas mileage(i drive at least 60 miles a day), with some possibilities for racing upgrades(i'm starting to lean more towards highway racing...more turns...) but mustangs are awesome for straight line stuff(even stock), no doubts here. i just wish mine hadn't broken down every 2 months, even with good care. so i've got what i want for my own situation and couldn't be happier(money wise, too, i'm 18, on my own).

I wasn't trying to compare. This just reminded me of it.
