Performance Upgrades

I have a 93 bronco 4x4. I am wanting to do some performance upgrades to boost HP but dont want to spend an arm and a leg for it. I was thinking about putting on a cold air intake and removing the belt driven fan and installing an elecric one. Make sense? Any other ideas would be appreciated, thanks.

Sounds like the electric fan is a good place to start. I know a guy who says they are indispensable for Old Fords. (I haven't gotten around to one.)

a set of headers will also help with your HP/ Gas concerns. (I have a set waiting to be ordered by me!

The best upgrade you can do, however, isn't really a "performance" part. Try finding a Disc Conversion Kit for your rear brakes. Bronco's never really listed too high in satisfaction as far as brakes go. They are huge monsters, and the drums in back don't do too much to stop them. I can tell you from personal experience, that when the wheel cylinders go, you're not in for much fun that week. (Likewise, the Brake conversion kit will be next on my list.)

Currently, I'm going to do the two upgrades listed above, and getting a TCI Transmission to cure the final hiccup that my baby left the factory with...

I failed to mention that I have put on a set of hedders, dual exhaust and an aftermarket cam so far

Which engine does your beast have? If you're up for it...the GT40 intake (and heads) are waiting...(Their too expensive for my Truck, but I am waiting to get them for the '69 Mustang!)

And also, have you considered the Oil Pump and Pan? A higher-output model will help keep your engine together. (While you're under there, you might consider an Oil Scavenger, too.)

Consider a valve-job? Maybe have them angled? The thing about performance parts is that they go from "reasonable cost-noticeable difference" to "Extraordinary cost-little improvement" pretty quickly. If you have the money to really do-over the pistons, rings, polish and port...you'll have a few thousand in it in no time. And your engine will still be in the 5000 lb beast, which may not react as you'd like. (As IF a Bronco ever reacted in a way its driver didn't like!)

You can always do the standby's of ignition system, maybe a computer chip, higher flow injectors-without having to dissemble the block components.
