bought some new toys =)

I bought a new snap-on impact gun yesterday, very torquey. Its max output is 675 ft lbs in reverse and 625 ft lbs in forward. Then a couple of weeks ago i bought a set of blackhawk ratchet wrenches with adjustable heads. The impact gun was $330 and the wrenches were $191. Both are VERY nice. Ill take pics with my phone tomorrow when i go to work.

Re: bought some new toys =)

The only bad thing about them is that when you over do it, you really over do it. My teachers son had it done to his integra type-r and broke the lug scew right off the hub. Ouch.

yes, do NOT sit with the impact and hammer on wheels. for fuck sakes, it pisses me off when the new kid does that, 2 days in a row, he flattened the cone on all 4 on 2 cars requiring new rims and nuts
the other car was a Mercedes, again, over torqued em, snapped the BOLTS off in the hubs, requiring new hubs, rims and bolts. and they still wont fire the fuck-tard because the service manager is never "wrong" when he makes decisions and he thinks the kids great even tho hes costing the company money

Re: bought some new toys =)

thats why you use torque sticks (limit the torque output). We have them at work but I wanted my own thats stronger so I can do more stuff bc our at work only put out 225 max or something. Theyre cheap. Plus Ill need it for when I do a timing belt job on a car that i have, my dad already wants to borrow it this weekend for his truck. He has a husky impact wrench but its not very powerful.

i dont trust torque sticks, my buddy has the 2nd best snap on gun out there right now, used a stick to torque a wheel and it came off on the road, since then he's stopped using them and hasnt had a problem since

Re: bought some new toys =)

I use impact on my lugs all the time, don't know the torque values but I guess it's nothing special. 1PhatCX, they need to fire that kid cuz I'm assuming Mercedes rims (any year) ain't cheap!
Hybrid and quiX are funny...
I wish I had more tools, and a garage... but then I'd be single again... most likely...
