92' Grand Marquis GS - Header Panel, Head Lamp Assy

I have a 1992 Mercury Grand Marquis GS and was planning on replacing the header panel and a head lamp assembly. First question, has anyone ever replaced the header panel and was it difficult? Do I have to take the front bumper off to replace the header panel? Also, what would be the easiest way to remove and replace the headlamp assembly? I understand that I would have to remove the metal clips locking the plastic nut on the back of the assembly? Thanks for any information you could share with me.
