I installed an intake and...
The Service engine light is now on.
The car is a 99 Altima (my wife's car) and I decided to ad an intake. I took out the stock intake except for the map sensor and connected the adapter and filter. Everything is fine and the car runs great. The only thing is that the service engine light is now on. My question is: If I disconnect the battery for a few minutes, will that reset the light?

Re: I installed an intake and...
are you sure you didnt do anything with the MAP sensor? you didnt cut a line by accident or anything? the intake itself shouldnt throw a CEL, but if you messed with the sensor itll trick it off

Yes! Disconnecting the battery (just the negative terminal) should reset your ECU. Just leave it disconnected for about 30 minutes...it's like a home computer, needs time to shutdown and reboot.

yeah i think disconecting the battery will do it. there is no reason the check engine should go on as a result of a swaped intake.
