dohhh!!!!!!!!!!!

after replacing my fuel pump and filter and cleaning the tank i found out why i wasnt getting gas to the motor. if it would have been a snake it would have bit me. the fuel line beside the motor was kinked into at the rubber line. 250.00 after fuel pump, filter, new gas and towing fees all i had to do was reach down and unkink the line. i feel like a idiot!!!!!

Re: dohhh!!!!!!!!!!!

well, the filter is routine maintenance, and you can rest easy about the fuel pump now because the new one will probably last the remaining life of the car.

txchevy: were you having any noticable problems before you changed the fuel pump or did ur car just die without a warning and leave you strandid somewhere? b/c i'm having some issues and i can't figure it out...reading your post makes me wonder if it's something as little as a kinked line.

Re: dohhh!!!!!!!!!!!

i would imagine that the kink would be the result of something. maybe someone hit it while they were doing work or maybe someone jacked the car up in the wrong place. i dont see a kink just randomly happening due to operation of the vehicle...

Re: dohhh!!!!!!!!!!!

i had plugs and wires put on mine one time and when i brought it home it smelled like gas and i opened the hood and it was spitting and spraying gas everywhere. the damn mechanic undid the fuel lines from where they attach to the engine compartment and evidently didn't put them back and they were burned all the way through because they were laid up against the damn EGR tube that sticks up off the driver side manifold. then he said he didn't undo the fuel lines.............. i was so mad i wanted to go back up there and but i couldn't because i had no wheels they were about to explode..... ........so i call him and he just me until i want to and doesn't even say .....so i just get on the computer and ...tell everybody he sucks... and then about six months later ...nah i didn't kill him but he did go out of business

sorry for changing the subject

the motor would turn over and i was getting fire to the plugs but it was not getting gas to crank. thats what i meant to say sorry about the confusion. as for the fan i checked all fuses and wiring. turns out that i never even thought about turning it by hand. its locked up. turns out i am an idiot i can tear down a 350 and put it back together in a couple of hours work on all my friends TAs and camaros but missed that big kink in the line and the fan. sometimes its the little things that get ya.

Re: dohhh!!!!!!!!!!!

happens to the best of us. better to miss that little kink than to forget to torque a rocker arm down or miss a head bolt or something...
