No, it's a 2 channel amp. As for Kicker, I don't like them. I would have suggested something different, but you won't be disappointed with what you have there.

Re: A good setup?

no such thing as a 2 channel mono amp. its one or the other. however, you can run a 2 channel in mono if you bridge it... i like kicker amps for the most part. .. theyre usually too expensive though. most people say you can find better for the money but if its what you want youll be happy with it. and yeah the subs and amp will match up well. i like havin an extra 50- 100 watts so i can set my gains low and still get the output i need.

i like the subs too. youll be pretty happy with the subs.. for the money. SQ is fair.. but they definately hit hard. how much are they on ebay? this auction expried so i cant tell without lookin for them.

my 15 VR pounds and for $100 i dont know of much that would be better for what i want.

Re: A good setup?

anybody know if sound domain ships to canada? if so you might want to look into having sounddomain.com pricematching etronics.com for the comp VRs.. youll get em for like 145 american..and to me the 5 extra bucks or so is definately worth it do buy from an authorized dealer and getting the one year warranty.

not sure if you were the one a was talking to about this earlier.. but i think i just posted about this subject in another recent post..

Yea that was me, They do ship to Canada. I sent them 2 emails 3 days ago and they replied to the one asking if they shipped to Canada but not the Proce Matching one. =P

But, the one year warranty is well worth getting the subs there.. I hope they will reply though..

Re: A good setup?

U should look into the adire Tempest. Its a really efficent sub for a really good price. 150$ for a sub that, IMO will sound better than 2 kickers. Or the 12 inch version called the shiva for 100. www.adireaudio.com

The Brahma may be begging for more power, But its still loud enough to Drop kick my Brain.

Re: A good setup?

yeah im assuming if they sell to canada then theres no reason they wont pricematch.. ive sent liek 10 requests.. 4 of which were for comp VRs and every time they approved it.. and especially lately that people are trying to sell the last of their old kicker lines.. im sure theyll approve and give you a few bucks off their price. the only thing they havent approved for me was a hifonics amp that was liek 575 or somethin and i wanted them to match like 225.. but they still offered a discount.. like 300.. so im sure theyll approve just be patient it should only take a day or so.

and about adire..yeah it all depends on what you want though.. if you want it to sound really good and just get kinda loud then go with one of the adire tempests or 2 shivas.. (although lately very hard to get any) or if you want it to get really loud and just sound kinda good then stick with what youre doin..

Re: A good setup?

lol nice wording....Kinda good. I respect kicker for the SPL division, but as far as SQ they are severaly lacking.

Thanks for all the imput,

I'm bassically looking for subs with a loud ban, pump really hard, and impress. I've been told Kicker was all of the above. I was also told Audiobahn is show and shit compared to a lot of subs.. My friend who owns a pair of 400watt RMS subs says his Audiobahns are way better than the 400watt RMS kicker CVR's. =P

Re: A good setup?

haha yeah im sure there are a lot of people here who would bash kicker.. but im sure theyre are very few who wouldnt agree that audiobahns make kickers look really good

and yeah im sure kicker would fit the bill for what youre looking for... most people want it loud at first (like me) and then slowly recognize that they want more and more SQ.. but just do what you are gonna do cause most people go through their stages and end up with somethin enty level, then somethin really loud, and then an SQL mix.. and then some just end up paying huge for just SQ.. so these VRs will be what you want until you upgrade. and besides if you skip any stages in between, then youll have less future setups to look forward to

i just got mine and im lookin for what im getting next. prolly gonna follow the pattern and go really loud.. but who knows i might skip a setup and go right up to SQL haha.

Re: A good setup?

if you're going to get 2 cvr's, i would port them, and run about 600rms total to the subs, lets see..

i had 2 cvr's ported to the specs on their website, running only 500rms and it was LOUD it was comparable to the 12" RE HC my friend had (running 1250rms)

Re: A good setup?

just make sure that you get a class D mono amp, so...
#1 it will drain less power
#2 the amp won't run as hot as other amps

and then before you buy, make sure the final ohm load of the subs matches with the ohm load of the desired power on your amp
