Oozing greese

I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4. Is it normal for the greese to ooze out from the cv joint boots. Greese is oozing out on both sides of my vehicle.

Thanks, Brian.

Re: Oozing greese

No!!! It is not normal. Depends on how long they have been like that though. Not long - replace the boots and apply new grease. Long time replace the axle/CV joint assembly.

If you get to it right away, you might save them. CV boots can be messy and you have to get the parts back in the original locations.

For the price and hastle, some just put in new axles. Others will save the money and get their hands dirty.
