Rear Disc conversion from Integras

I'm looking for integra rear suspension part to do a rear disc conversion on my 6G Civic. Can anyone verify which year integra parts will bolt right up?

Also, does the Integra Type-R have larger rotors in the rear than say a US spec GS?

The 94-00 Teg parts will fit. As well as the rear disks from 92-00 Civic Si's, del Sol Si's and VTEC's.

And yeah the ITR has bigger rotors.

I guess it's a good thing the Typre-R has larger rear rotors, but now I want those alot more than I want GSR rotors. Oh well, it should be fun trying to find rear brakes off an ITR.

IMO i would just get the GSR rotors. They are already 10.5" big or somethin. They will do just fine.

Some other things to consider:

99-00 Civic Si and 94+ integra proportioning valves are different. You do not really need to get it if you have an EX, mine works ok right now without it. However, I myself want to eventually get this, and Im not sure how lower trim levels prop. valves would work with the conversion.

Also, if you have an EX your booster and master cylinder are up to par as well, they are the same as the 99-00 Si's, but other lower trims may not be (I am not completely sure, someone else would need to confirm)

If you do this swap, couple things you might want to do. First, get some new pads. Second, you may need new rotors depending on the condition of the donor.

Finally, the rear rotors are not 10.5 on the gsr or Si's, the front rotors are 10.3 and the rears are 9.something, Im not exactly sure. (I wanna say 9.5)
Type R's do have larger rotors, and I believe they may have yet another size master cylinder and booster, but I can not confirm this. Hey, arent they 5 lug also, or is that just JDM?

I'm loooking in my 96-97 civic Helm's manualand it does mention 2 types of brake systems in civi'c of this year. It specs a 'conventional' and ABS types. Regarding the differences in a smaller brake booster in an EX as opposed to an LX/HX/DX, it does specify a 7" or 8" brake booster for ABS systems, but I can't find any mention of an EX having a lager booster. Same goes with the master cylinder and the proportioning valve. Seems by the info I have at hand that there is either ABS or non-ABS components.

I think the EX's that arent't equipped with ABS share the 'conventional ' brake system with the lower class Civics. I personally know that theEX has the same size rear drums as my HX. I was working on my friend's 2000 EX and noticed this. His front calipers were slightly different in style, but I didn't notice a larger rotor or larger drums in the rear.

That was a damn good idea though. I hadn't thought I might need a larger booster or diff master cylinder/prop valve.

So what it comes down to I think is that if I get rear discs from a GSR, I'll be fine as far as not replacing the master/prop valve/booster, but if I go ITR components, there's a good chance I'll need to get ITR verrsions of these components.

Can someone verify this info??????? If I have to hunt these parts down too, I doubt an ITR conversion will be possible, but I want larger rotors to accommodate my 16" Konigs.

You need the rear trailing arm, and the caliper, hub, etc. thats attached to it. Im not exactly sure if you need the upper and lower control arms, but I used those on mine also. Just make sure you inspect the brake/hub assembly for what kind of condition it is in. I am now facing a problem of a possible bad hub bearing on my disc brakes, so learn from my hastiness and take the time to make sure (or have someone else who knows more) that everything is in good working condition.

As for the ITR swap, am I crazy or is the ITR not a 5 lug? This would be a big factor in your decision I would think, because Im betting your new 16's are 4x100 lug pattern. If you want to know more details on the ITR brake specs, you should ask Jerome at sohfast.com. He sells all kinds of used OEM Honda parts, he is very friendly and helpful. (I feel like I am obligated to buy my p valve from him, since I have asked him so many questions!)

*About the master cylinder, I am only able to confirm that the EX and Si were the same size (15/16). I did not look into lower trim sizes, so I did not want to assume they were all the same, just wanted to give you a heads up when I said to check for that.

ITR is a good swap to go with, but its way too expensive and hard to come by

Does anyon know if the ITR rear hubs are 5 lug? This is a pretty good point to check before I go all out on this.

Also, just out of curiosity, anyone know a good way to rig up a hydrolic press to change out my front bearings? An old friend up north had done it to avoid getting half-assed mechanics destroying his new bearings, but I never saw the setup he had. There is supposed to be an easy way to do it......I'm guessing with a bottle jack or floor jack, but if anyone knows a site that details what is required and has step-by-step info, send me a link please.
