Top down in Motion?

I just read on www.porsche.com that at speeds up to 31mph you can put the top down without stopping however, this is on the new 2005 model. Is this the same for the older models? I know on Honda S2000 the E Brake must be up to put down the roof. On the earlier models must the E Brake be up as well?
Thanks

Re: Top down in Motion?

the ebrake must be on with older boxsters and the older 911 996 cabs are speed regulated at ~10 mph.

There is a hack that allows the older Boxster to operate the top while driving under 30mph. Here is a link Boxster top hack
