I have a 1992 Grand Prix that goes into Neutral every time I come to a stop. It's not physically moving the shifter, but if I move the shifter to Neutral and then back into OD the gear engages again.
The Transmission shop says it has to be electrical, but I know if I take it into them they are going to want to rebuild it, regardless of the problem. You guys have any suggestions? |

Re: Tranmission Slips into Neutral when i come to a Stop
if you keep it out of overdrive and in just normal drive, does it still do it?

No it does not. Just in OD.

Re: Tranmission Slips into Neutral when i come to a Stop
all i can gather, is try a complete transmission fluid flush. i was reading on here, and someone recommends seafoam transmission treatment. but my thoughts is that the overdrive gear is going bad.

you have a sticky shift solenoid. Trans-X or Seafoam may help, but more than likely you need a mechanical fix, ie replace the faulty solenoid.
