Completed: Mazda RX-8

The recent popularity of the RX-8 on this forum has inspired me to get on and finish this. Kit is Fujimi, Type S version. We all know about the problems with this kit, so I won't bore you with the details. Here's the pics....

Everyone talks about the quality of this kit, but it seems that everyone can handle those problems. And so did you! Well done!

Nice! Great color choice... (my first RX8 kit is Mica Red).

Sometimes you just have to accept the challenge or deficiencies and get it done!

I swear the RX8 kit is more like 1/23rd scale...it just looks big and chunky, especially sitting next to a Ferrari 512 TR that I'm working on.

My 3rd RX8 is slowly progressing...a pearl white Amemiya. Finally figured a way to get a decent spoiler on it that I like. It's a better-executed body kit than the Mazdaspeed.

Re: Completed: Mazda RX-8

Thanks for all the comments. Whilst I am pleased with the finished model, I have to confess that the paint finish is not totally flawless. Mould lines across the top of the front wings are still clearly visible when looked at from above. They didn't show too much when primered and base coated in silver, but they showed through again after the top coat was applied.

I make all my number plates on self-adhesive polyester labels, using a label printer that I have at work.

Re: Completed: Mazda RX-8

From the looks of it I wouldn't think there were any problems with the model. Very nice, clean build up and a great color choice for it.
