My A/C button light will not go off......i press the button but the light stays on. any ideas?

The a/c works fine...97 GPGT 3.8.

I'm not sure on your vehicle, but on some, if you are using defrost (and one other setting for heat I think), the a/c stays on to help reduce humidity. I would try other settings (and button) to see if light goes out
