How to change the Rear diffy Fluid? New Info!
Hey guys, I just changed my Rear Diffy lube and the front as well as the t-case. I have read all the write ups and FAQ's on here on the best way to do this as well as in the Haynes manual, and they all say that you either have to pump it out through the fill hole or remove suspension parts and the cover to drain the lube. After inspecting a little closer I found that both diffy's have drain plugs, I wouldn't think that this is unique to my truck but there is on in the bottom of the diffy's. If you drive the truck for a while and get the lube good and warm then it drains pretty well. It does take a few minutes to get it all out because it is so thick, but it does drain. So I opened them up let them drain for about 15 minutes out the plug back in and filler back up, I was completely done with all three in less that 45 minutes. No disassembly or new gaskets. I hadn't seen anything on here about this so I thought I would share the info.
