Hello,
This morning on my 99 Jetta, the ABS (yellow) and BREAK (flashing red) light turned on as I tried to pull out of my parking space. The front wheels are not moving, but they will go in reverse. What does this mean? Thanks! JenniferJetta |

Re: 99 jetta ABS BREAK LIGHT
Are you saying the car will not move forward? Automatic or manual?

Re: Re: 99 jetta ABS BREAK LIGHT
Actually the car does not engage in reverse or drive! The ABS light is on and the red break light is flashing (even though the parking break is off). Any suggestions? Thanks much! JenniferJetta

Re: 99 jetta ABS BREAK LIGHT
The brake light comes on if the ABS light is on, but neither will prevent you from getting into gear. I take it that the selector moves. You may want to check the shifter linkage.

If the abs light is on and the brake light is flashing and your car wont move because the wheels are locked up, it sounds like there is something wrong with the abs control module.
