Tranny flush?
I have a 96 Mercury with 80,000 miles on it. I'm thinking about doing a tranny flush, however, I've heard that this can cause more harm than good on cars with higher mileage. Any thoughts and/or suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Re: Tranny flush?
I would not have it flushed,I would have the oil changed and the filter removed and cut open to see just whats been going on for 80,000 miles.
There will always be debri at the bottom of the pan and this is normal but if the trans is in good working order the oil change and filter will do it good. |

Forget the flush. Drop pan, change filter, clean magnet in pan. Also drain torque converter and that will change about 95% of your fluid. The pan seal should be reusable.
