My MIL has been on for about two weeks.
It turns off when waiting at a red light. I can hear a fan turn on and off as the MIL turns on and off. The 25amp AIR PUMP fuse in the underhood fuse block keeps blowing out I noticed after I took the car to an auto shop to run a diagnosis test. It read,Code # 29 , " DTC 29 sets when ECM Detects abnormal voltage on Secondary Air injection pump Relay control circuit." I would really appreciate any helpful Information. (95 Camaro Z28) |

Re: ECM Detects abnormal voltage
Well to tell you the truth the air pump doesn't really do much and will not effect anything major by just disconnecting the harness to it and leaving a good fuse in the underhood hood fuse box. The air pump basically just pumps fresh air into your exhaust stream for like the first 30 seconds of start up only when the engine isn't up to regular cruising temps. It does this to lower emmisions I think your air pump gears got moisture on them and corroided and is requiring more voltage than the circuit has to give. So a simple unclip of the harness will stop this excess draw and the PCM doesn't check to see the air pump click on just to make sure there is a complete circuit to the fuse. You can do what you want but if it was me I would just unplug it.
