bogging at the line!

this is pissing me off and i just want a second opinion on this before i drop $400 on a part i might not need.
i have a 6a msd ingnition system in my 85 mr2 and when i tac it up to 3to3.5g's the car just sucks gas then kicks in more than a second later, all the other gears are fine its just first and i think the msd is just not firing strong enough but i could be wrong.

what else could it be?
