My 96 2.4 liter Grand Am with a manual transmission decided to stay in
third after stopping at a light. The shifter moves but does not stay in position. My guess is that the cable broke. I heard a loud snap inside the passenger area the previous night. That may or may not be related to my problem. I removed the console and noticed that there were two cables connected to the shifter. How hard of a fix is this. Any and all advice is appreciated. Re: Grand AM stick Shift
I would deffinately say the shift cable.
I don't think they're that bad to fix - i've never done one myself but I remember my friend did - it took him an evening. It was like a 20 somethin $$ part if I remember right. |
