2003-Weird Noise-Please help

Today I heard a weird noise coming from the driver's side, it sounds likes a clock ticker. I can't determine exactly where it is coming from I lifted the hood and it doesn't sound like it is coming from there. It sounds like it's in the dash board or underneath. Has anyone ever had that problem. I turned off the Envoy and than turned it back on this morning and the noise went away. But than later when I turned it back on the noise came back so I turned it off again but this time it still made the same noise. It's not that loud but loud enough to annoy anyone.

Please can anyone help me!!!

Might be the fan clutch...is it a "ticking noise?"

It is a ticking noise but it's not that loud. It doen't sound like it's coming from under the hood.

That noise is coming from the tachometer. There is a TSB out for that. The motor that drives the needleis bad. I had the same problem but is fixed now.

Thank you.... I haven't heard the noise anymore but if I do again I will definitely take it to the shop. How hard was it to get it fix? Did you do it yourself?

It shouldn't take them long to do it. I had dropped the truck off in the morning and they had it done along with a few other problems I had by afternoon.

Weird problem.

Is there an official list of TSMs for the Envoy on the net?
