18's for prelude?
I'm thinkin of gettin 18's for my 4th gen, and i was wondering how well they sit in the wheel well with lowering springs? I know different springs have different drops so anybody who is familiar with this setup please give me ur opinion. Also...if 18x7.5 are too big for the front i was debating on whether or not to get 18's in the back and 17's for the front. One thing i would hate is to have 18's with lowering springs (coilovers a little too stiff) and have it rub, then there's just more of a hassle to not rub on turns and small bumps. I wanna hear what you people think about this.

i wouldn't do the larger wheel in the rear thing. that's just stupid on fwd cars. unless you're drag racing. how low do you plan to go? worst case you'll have to roll the fenders a bit. 18"x7.5" should work fine without rubbing. but again, that depends on how low you go and of course the offset on the wheel you choose, the tire size, camber etc.

Yeah, I agree, don't do larger wheels in the rear. As far as the size, I've seen pictures of 18's on lowered ludes and they don't seem to have a problem. I think it's more common to see 17's, which is what I have, and I think they're a good balance, not too big. It's up to you though, but I don't think you'll have much of a problem fitting the 18's.

There's more things to consider besides the rim size and offset...you have to get the correct size tire. 18's will fit, but the tire would have to have a low profile - 225/35 is a nice wide, low profile tire that might work (depends on how much you lower it)...you have to do the math.

Besides, larger tires on the rear will make it understeer even more than usual.

thanx for the info guys...i've decided to go with the 17's all around, and do a 1.8 drop in the back and 2.0 front

18's on a lude are pretty nice. My friend is rolling 18's on his lude, and he had to use the lowpro tires, but it looks good, still sits lower then most people even with the 18's.
