maf/intake?

when im putting a new intake pipe and filter on my car do i basically just install the intake pipe where the stock hose is and then install the filter in the stock place and leave the maf inbetween them? ive serched on here and on dsmtuner but i cant really find any good step by step install guids with pics for installing an intake pipe and filter on a turbo, and id rather do it myself than pay to have it done...thanks

Re: maf/intake?

It's really quite simple. Just replace the intake pipe with your new one (it goes in the same place as the stock one), attach the MAS to the pipe, and then put the filter on the other side of the MAS (this is assuming your intake pipe and filter came with an adaptor for the filter-to-MAS connection). The MAS is an oval egg shape while the filter and intake pipe have a round shape, therefore you need an adaptor for that connection. If your new setup didn't come with an adaptor, a quick search on eBay will bring up a bunch of them for like $15.
