Re: Tamiya clear ...

Try to use the same brand clear as the paint you used to spray the color coats.

just sprayed tamiya clear over duplicolour gunmetal lately, came out OK,but I put way too much of it on , so that will need to be redone.

But I think it's safe to say that tamiya clear will work on Duplicolour (as it's acrylic) , but remember to let it vent really long (about two weeks, I ve been told) before putting on clear.

Re: Tamiya clear ...

I thought Duplicolor was lacquer?
Perhaps it's acrylic lacquer?

Either way, if you really want to try it, spray some Duplicolor on a scrap part and allow it to dry, then spray the Tamiya clear on it to see if they react.

I use Dupli-color all the time and ive never had any problem using Tamiya clear over it but i do wait a few days before clear coating. Also ive never had problems using Dupli-color clear over Tamiya color either but i might be very lucky. Look at my BMW 507 Cabrio and Japanese Muscle Skyline for examples were i used these paints together.
