So I'm sitting at home with a group of friends playing a good round of Halo 2 when the phone rings. My mom answers it, and it's a guy from the U.S. Marines asking about me. To this, my mom replied "HE IS NOT INTERESTED!!!" and hung up on him. I sure as hell am not going to war. If Bush reinstates the draft, I'm moving to fucking Canada. I am not going over to Iraq just to get shot or blown up. It's just not right. We aren't doing shit over there except getting killed, and I for one am NOT gonna join them.

I agree. My friend joined the marines, and he didnt know until last month if he was going to Iraq or not. Im not a religious guy, but I prayed that he wouldnt be sent there. Luckily he got stationed to Okinawa Japan for 2 years. Thats pretty cool actually. But I personally would not join the marines either. Every time you watch CNN, all they talk about is... 15 marines were killed today in Iraq... 12 marines dead... 23 marines dead.. 8 marines killed... That is so fucked up.

But I would like to know how they got your number in the first place. Military recruiters don't make blind sales calls, you had to have signed something or filled out a form somewhere.

I dont think we should be there. All we are doing is losing family members. I was scared shitless when my friend told me he might get shipped to Iraq. Do I want to join the Marines just so I can get there on the first day and have some suicide bomber blow up my mess hall and kill me. Hell no. Think about both sides of the story. There are people out there that want to go and fight, and they can do that if they want, but some people dont wanna end up being another statistic on CNN.

My buddy is on his way to Iraq, right now hes training in Mississippi. As much as he wants to be in the army, he realy is not looking forward to being in the box. And while I will never be in the armed forces (I cant kill anything), I still will support the troops and Im working on sending stuff to his whole company to lift their morals.

But what you dont know, is that many of the soldiers over think what they are doing is the right thing. I have friends over their right now, i get to talk to them every now and then. These are foot soliders and MPS, the guys getting killed. They are proud of what they are doing, im proud of what they are doing. What saddam was doing was no different that Hitler and the holocaust, just not on such a grand scale. If oppose the war, then you dont support the troops. Cause the majority of the troops support the war. I dont know if you realize how badly those people have been treated and need our help. If you read some of the stories about their voting the other day, you would get chills down your back. People walking to voting booths to vote and they hear and see nearby voting booths get blown up. The Iraqis march in protest against the terrorist. Elected officials EXPECT to get assasignated. IN the US if it rains we tons of people wont go to vote, in Iraq you need to blow them up to stop them from voting. Also dont forget, the soldiers over their signed up for the marines. They fully understood this wasnt going to be ajob where they sat on their ass's all day and did nothing. They understand the dangers involved with the armed forces and excepted those dangers. And a draft, gimmie a break, stop reading National Inquirer. Even if their was a draft, if my country called on me, id proudly serve. Im not a scared little pussy who is gonna run away to canada when things get bad. And dont say anything about me not being their now, my job is going to be way riskier than anything your scared butt will ever be. Im going into law enforcement. DEA or US Marshalls.

WOW you actually think bush would reinstate the draft? Bush is the one who doesn't want to reinstate the draft. Some retarded senator from new york wanted to reinstate it because there was an uneven balance of minorities in the military.

2. What's wrong with not wanting to join the military? Am I some piece of shit because I'd much rather stay in college and earn the degree I'm selling my soul for loans to get? I've got plenty of things on my plate right now, and I'd much rather deal with that than be forced to drop my life completely. I have a girlfriend that I love, a life I am finally proud of and hopefully a career in the next few years. If the men and women over there now wish to join of their own free will, then more power to them. But, I don't feel that I should be forced to do something such as that.
